Nashville TN - The Eastern Kentucky University Lady Colonels traveled to the Lady Tigers lair and lost 70-60 to Tennessee State. After leading 32-30 at half, EKU could not survive a second half shooting barrage by TSU. The Lady Tigers combined free throws and field goals to pull out the win. The Lady Colonels field goal shooting woes continued as they only shot 30.8 in the game. TSU made 11-22 field goals, including 4-8 three-pointers, and 14-22 free throws to outscored EKU 40-28 in the second stanza.
Charlotte Sizemore continued to lead the scorers with 13 points, but her shooting woes also continued, including 0-8 in the first half. She led the Colonels with 11 rebounds. Jennifer King and Mikki Bond added 11 and 10 points, respectively. As a team EKU shot 76.0 from the free throw line on 19-25. They also handled the ball well and committed only 16 turnovers in the game, although, 13 came in the second half.
Tennessee State continued their winning ways at home as they won for the sixth time in eight games. Meanwhile, Eastern lost for the ninth time in thirteen games away from the friendly confines of Paul S. McBrayer Arena. Eastern hopes to get well as they travel to Clarksville Tennessee to face the struggling Austin Peay Lady Govs, Saturday, who had lost eight games in a row and their last five at home before winning Thursday night.
